Weather. Sunny and Cold. But good running weather.

A record entry for 4500 runners for the 22nd Hastings Half Marathon, and 340 in Mini Run.

The event was won by Michael Coleman (Maidstone & Medway), with a fantastic final three miles. He was 50 seconds down at 9 miles to Kenyan Chris Boit, who had appeared to be running away with it, to make it nine wins on the trot for the African Visitors.
But Mike got sight of the leader on the three mile seafront and, even though Boit did not falter, Coleman pulled him in with 4 and half minute miling - Going like a Train! And won convincingly. Huw Lobb from Bedford was third. The womens race was won by Birhan Dagne, closely followed by Alice Braham, with Lucy Hassell third and Maddie Horton 4th. The first Hastings athlete home was Daniel Anderson in a great 7th place. One of the heroes of a wonderful day was leg amputee Lorraine Pooley from Uckfield, who painfully finished in 5 hours. Although a team with a Wheelchair 'Sharon's Team, finished in 14 minutes past the five hours. The Winner will also be the Thousands of Pounds raised for needy causes and charities, and all the monies raised by the event by The Lions Club of Hastings to put back into the community. The crowds of spectators were also out in force, enjoying the sunshine and as Hastings came alive to the world. The prestigious prize giving evening will be on Friday 28th April, when we will find out how much has been raised for so many good causes.

Michael Coleman Joins The Battle of Hastings.

The South's Top Road Runner, Michael Coleman (Medway & Maidstone AC), 5th for the last two years at Hastings, also fancies his chances of winning this years event on Sunday March 12th, as does 3rd last year Huw Lobb(Beds). With the weakened Kenyan Challenge, due to the Commonwealth Games in Australia, the Race this year is wide open, and the chance is there for the first home country winner since Mark Flint in 1996. Michael normally leaves it very late to enter, but as his training has been going so well, has made an early commitment for this year's event, and it would be great to see a real Battle 'up front' and maybe even a finishing sprint finish! It will also be interesting how the Hastings Based athletes Teklemariam Meried and Biniam Ande contest this latest Battle of Hastings.
Entries are still open for all abilities to enter. www.hastings-half.co.uk

Hastings Half Marathon Press Release 20th Feb. 2006.

The Ant & Tec of Hastings for a Home Win!

Fellow Eritrean Asylum Seekers Biniam ANDE, and TEKLEMARIAM Meried, have become known as the 'Ant & Dec' of Hastings, but not for their TV Fame, but for their Athletic Prowess. They have been living in Hastings for 18 months now, and are qualified to run in the Sussex County Half Marathon Championships, which are incorporated in the Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 12th March, carrying the Club colours of Hastings A.C. Last year in the Hastings Event they came 7th and 8th respectively in the Race, and this was with Biniam breaking his shoe at nine miles, and stopping, losing about two minutes of time! The question now for March 12th is whether 'Ant & Dec' can improve on their times to fight for the Hastings Title, and be the first home Town Winner since Tony Graham (Hastings Runners) in 1987. After finishing in 69.37, a two minute delay and better shoes and more training, could this mean a winning time of near 64 minutes? This would certainly be good enough to take on The Kenyan challenge, which will be less evident this year due to the Commonwealth Games, and Top Briton Huw Lobb. It would certainly mean a Sussex Title, and helping Hastings A.C. to County Honours in the Team Category, and being First Local Athlete. Will Daniel Anderson(HAC) be able to keep his Top Hastings Local Athlete Title? If Biniam and Tek can make a name for themselves, it could even be possible for them to represent UK. A quote from last year after they had just finished sums up their attitude "If I win my case I would love to run for this country- maybe in the 2012 at the Olympic Games in London. It takes a lot of hard work and training to get fit, and stay fit, but we will do it. And next year WE WILL beat the Kenyans on behalf of Hastings" What a Promise and Statement of intent!

Event Date Sunday 12th March 2006.

Free Creche Facilities for 2006 Event.

The Hastings Half Marathon organisers -The Hastings Lions Club - are pleased to Announce, in conjunction with The ABC Family Nursery Ltd, - FREE Creche Facilities for this year's Event on March 12th.

Both The Lions Club and ABC Family Nursery believe that it is important that Parents have a choice on Race Day, and instead of one or the other parent looking after their children, whilst one takes part. Now they can both run together, safe in the knowledge that their children are being well looked after, and not having to pay very high Child Care fees for a Sunday.

Penny White, Director, of ABC Family Nursery says " We are delighted to offer this Free Service, and after introducing this in a small way last year, hope to see a lot more parents taking advantage of this Facility. We would advise though for parents to book their children in early, in case we get full up." You can contact ABC on 01424 851117 or on web site www.abc-family-nursery.co.uk or e.mail to hastings@abc-family-nursery.co.uk

And would you further believe it! Lunch is included!

The ABC Nursery is also well situated for using the Park & Ride Scheme, which is at The nearby Grove School.

Press Release 4th December 2005. Hastings Half Marathon.

Entries for the popular Event on Sunday 12th March 2006 continue to flood in to the organisers -The Hastings Lions Club.

This week they have passed the 1000 mark, which is not normally reached until Christmas. Also the Manor Insurance Sponsored Mini-Run for the 11-16 ages has an abnormally high entry for the time of the year, reaching 50 already.

Entrants are taking part for many reasons, including a Lady who is looking for a Nice Hastings Man -whilst she is running!, and one of the common reasons is to sample 'The Best Fish & Chips in the U.K.' But not during the run!

But mostly runners are taking part to raise monies for their own special Charity or needy cause.

There are some very Big groups entered. Bexhill College has 32 entries, lead by Teachers Bob Wratten and Simon Clasper, who will be coaching the 30 students round the Route. Only two female ones though! Hastings United FC Colts have a team of 16 entrants, lead by Coaches Paul Greenaway, and David Stiles. A big disappointment though for 16 year old Rob Usherwood, who is possibly one of their fastest runners, but as he is under 17 at the date of the Event, is not under U.K. Athletics Rules able to take part. Sorry Rob, but see you in 2007 please! The Colts are trying to raise as much money in sponsorship to fund an end of season tour for the Team, hopefully to Europe. Good Luck Lads!

Also entered is the Incredible Lorraine Pooley from Crowborough. Lorraine lost her leg in an accident, but since has shown by her determination and courage, that she can cope with most Adventures and challenges. More about Lorraine later.

Entry forms are available at most Sports Shops and Centres, or go to the web site www.hastings-half.co.uk, where you can either enter 'on line' or download an entry form.

If you need more information or detail, please contact me on racedirector@hastings-half.co.uk or tel. 01424 437001.

Best wishes,

Press Release Monday 3rd October 2005.

Ref. Hastings Half Marathon Sunday 12th March 2006.

Hastings More popular than ever!

The 22nd Hastings Half Marathon seems more popular than ever, as within two weeks of launching entry forms, nearly 500 entries have been received, which puts it a month ahead of normal schedule. One major sports shop after having had its usual amount of 100 forms, needed more within a week!

Runners want to know that they are entered for the event, and to make sure of their place by entering early. Many have also applied for the London Marathon, for which the Hastings event is a vital part of their preparations.

It is certainly a good idea to enter now, then you can plan your training, instead of trying to pack in last minute training, which can cause problems. It is also a good idea to plan your Fundraising, if you are running for a needy cause or charity.

Entry forms are available at most sports shops and centres, or from web site www.hastings-half.co.uk, where you can also enter 'on line'

Hastings Half Marathon Presentation Night. 22nd April 2005.

£66,391.68 Raised So Far!

A Good Crowd attended the Prize Giving Evening of this year's Hastings Half Marathon on Friday 22nd April at the Hastings Centre, Hastings.

The Evening was a great success, but the biggest Winner of all was 'Needy Causes', as the amount raised through The Event organised, The Hastings Lions Club, totalled a whopping £66,391.68. And this is only five weeks after The Event, with the figure moving upwards all the time, and expected to reach nearer the £100,000 mark when all the sponsor forms are in. But of course this is only the 'tip of the Iceberg' as regards how much money the Event helps to raise, because The Lions never know the whole total, as many people keep it to themselves, and this is estimated as being more than double the known amount. Sponsor forms so far have raised monies for 39 different needy causes, and The Lions will be using other monies to support local needy causes during the next year. The Team raising the most money by the Evening, and winning the Dyer Charity Shield, were the Simply Italian Restaurant Team, raising money for Diabetes and Glycon Disease. Award Winners travelled from as far as Portsmouth, Norfolk, London and Thanet, to receive their Prizes and Awards from UK Athlete Sean Baldock, with many receiving vouchers which totalled over £2000 in value on the night. The winners of the Sponsor Form Draw, who all receive a variety of vouchers, were :- Mark Weeks-Pearson, Brenda Boyle, Kayleigh Crouch, Elizabeth O' Shaughnessy, Lynn Upfold and April Johns. It was also the first opportunity of seeing a preview of the Best Film ever taken of the Event, which showed a Trailer of the DVD now available from Thor Taylor. This can be purchased for £9.99 delivered by contacting Thor on 01424 430524. This is a must Buy! The Lions Club would like to thank all those who supported The event in so many ways. Next year's Event will be on Sunday 12th March 2006, and entry forms will be available in September. If you require more info. Contact me on 01424 437001. Eric Hardwick, Race Director.

Hastings Half Marathon Sunday 13th March 2005. Race Summary.

On a dry and clean day, the race started in Sunshine, and later in day turned colder and windy as the tide came in -no that the leading Athletes were affected by this ! Fred Mogaka(Kenya) won for the second year in a row, from Tanzanian Malack Olemengera, to take the £2000 first Prize, in a time of 1.04.10, thirteen seconds faster than 2004. Huw Lobb(Beds) won the AAA and U.K. and SEAA Titles, and with it an extra £1000 to go with his third place finish. Martin Cox(Bristol)came 4th(2nd UK), and last year's UK Winner Michael Coleman(M & M) 5th overall and 3rd UK. The Biggest winner on the Day was Jo Kelsey(Winchester & DAC),who besides winning £2000 for the Womens Race, added a further £1000 as top U.K. Athlete, in winning the AAA and SEAA Titles. Her time of 1.18.19 reflected the tough Hastings Course. She won a tight race from second place Michaela McCallum(Winchester), by twenty seconds., with Kerrie Clarke (M & M) a further 17 seconds back. These three took all the titles on offer. A Record entry of 4591,saw the biggest field in the Event's 21 year history, and indeed the crowds also turned out in greater than ever numbers. The Event was preceded by a fine sight of the Hastings Corp of Pipes & Drums parading up and down the start/finishing straight , and an aerobic musical warm up. The new features of the event -Electronic Chip Timing incorporated in the race number, worked well, but some runners were not sure if it was 'Gun to Finish or chip to chip timing'. We always state4d it would be Gun to Finish timing. The Park & Ride Scheme was a great success, and we will improve further on this for next year. The ABC Family Nursery Creche Facility, worked well, but could have coped with many more children, and we hope that more parents will trust us with their children next year. We Apologise for delay with Prize Giving on The Day, but we had Officials from AAA, UK, and SEAA to make decisions, which owing to some disqualifications and doubt about qualifications, had to be delayed and shortened. The Main Prize Giving Evening will be on Friday 22nd April,. 7.p.m. for 7.45p.m. at The Hastings Centre(opposite the Conquest Hospital), The Ridge, Hastings. This great Family occasion is open to All, and you can see the Fantastic Thor Taylor DVD of the Event, and by a copy. This DVD, is a 'fly on the wall' documentary leading up to the Event, and everything about the Race and The Day. Good Buy! You can order Photos from asiorders.co,, and souvenirs are available of The Event. The race is on now to see how much money has been raised. Get your sponsor forms in by 22nd April, and tell us how much you have raised. There is a draw of Sponsor forms for Prizes on the Night. The Dyer Charity Trophy is for the person/organisation raising the most money by Prize Giving Evening. The General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited Charity Awards of £1000, will also be presented.

We hope everyone enjoyed The Event, and we can see you next year on Sunday March 12th 2006.

Get your sponsor form in by 22nd April!

Half Marathon Press Release. 28th February. 2005.

World Mountain Running Champion for Hastings. Sunday March 13th.

Martin Cox from Bristol, is a World Mountain Running Champion, and has won the World Title twice in the last five years, and always been in the top five in the World. He has run four Marathon is Mountains, including 'The World's Toughest Marathon at Graubuenden, Switzerland, which climbs 3000m (vertical ascent) which he won in 2004. He has not taken part in any flat races, and is aiming to win the AAA of England Title with his first Half Marathon at Hastings. Those that know the Hastings course, know that the tough part is the first five and half miles, where most of the significant climbs are made. Harley Shute Road, and Queensway should mean nothing to Martin! If he can keep with the Kenyans for this first tough part of the race, then anything can happen! It has been proved in the past, that if you are 'with the pace' up to the top of Queensway, you are in with a chance, because you have to make the effort in the first five miles, and you can bet that the quality Kenyan Athletes will be aiming to break loose by then. This would be Martin's First UK Title, and would mean him bursting upon the road running scene, which so far has not had to reckon with him. His also stated intention is to quality for the next Commonwealth Games, and after Hastings, to run a sub 2.15. Marathon in 'London' this April. As a recent clue to his form, he won the Canterbury 10 Mile Road Race three weeks ago by a clear five minutes, in a time of 50 minutes.

    Press Release. 11 Jan 2005

Hastings Half Marathon Sunday 13th March 2005.

    'McDonald's Challenge'.

Further to McDonald's supplying 26,000 cups for the drinks for The Half Marathon, and a free McDonald's Hamburger for each competitor, they are supporting The Event even more by a new initiative called 'The McDonald's Challenge'

The Award will be £1000 for the first male and female on Race Day to beat the existing course records. They stand at present at:-
Men. 1.01.37 by Samuel Otieno in 1999.
Women 1.11.13 by Andrea Wallace in 1993
It is one of the wonders of The Event, that especially the Women's Time, set in 1993 has not been broken.

These awards would add to the winning Prize Money of £2000 each, and if it was a British Runner another £1000 would be added as top U.K. Athlete. As The Event is also the AAA of England, SEAA., and UK Inter Counties Championships for 2005, a strong U.K. field is expected.

John Haynes, McDonald's Franchise Operator for the Hastings Area, says of The Event; 'McDonald's restaurants all over the World are promoting active, balanced lifestyles, with consumers worldwide. This includes a number of programmes and events to encourage physical activity, from grassroots football to community walks and runs. It also includes an innovative website developed in partnership between McDonald's and The International Olympic Committee, www.goactive.com. This website encourages physical activity, via a full resource library of information as well as a "virtual trainer" fitness programme which provides customized training to consumers free of charge. Having supported the Event over the years by supplying cups and vouchers, I felt I wanted to do more to acknowledge this great Event, and the work that the Hastings Lions Club do for the Community by organising it so well. I want to put out The Challenge to the World to come to Hastings and try to win this money, and nothing would delight me more than to present these cheques for £1000 on Race Day'. End of quote.

Sunday 8th November 2004. Radcliffe Stuns New York with Race of The Century. Press Release 09 Nov 2005

After Paula Radcliffe's Fantastic Win in New York Today, her next big Race could be The Hastings Half Marathon in March 2005.
After The Athens Olympics this year race Director of Hastings Eric Hardwick, wrote to Paula with his condolences and best wishes. He was pleased to receive a reply from Paula, thanking him for his good wishes at such a difficult time, and saying that she will be Back. Eric, quickly followed this up with an Invitation to her to run at Hastings next year. It is not a question of money, it will be if the challenge is interesting, and Paula has given us a 'Maybe'. So you never know, as we are well known for looking after Athletes at Hastings, and there is the Challenge to beat the course record of 71 minutes, and the win an extra bonus. We have been waiting since 1993, when Andrea Wallace ran 71.13, for someone to beat this time, and perhaps this could be the inducement to come to Hastings. It will all depend on how her training schedule works out, and whether it fits in for her, but as the Event is also the AAA of England Championships, it is also another Title which Paula has not yet won!
Well Done Paula -We would love to see you at Hastings!

    MEDIA RELEASE
BROOKS AND THE JOG SHOP SAVE
    HASTINGS WINNERS DAY
    MONDAY 15TH MARCH 2004

When Hawa Hussein stepped off the plane on Saturday and found that her luggage had gone missing, winning the Women's race in the popular Hastings Half Marathon last Sunday was far from her mind. However thanks to Sam Lambourne from Brighton running Specialist THE JOG SHOP, and Alex Wilson at BROOKS, she did just that.

The Hastings race, in its 20th year is always a favourite as a pre London event and attracts an excellent field. Class athletes like Hawa come from all over the world to take part, and the 4000 plus field are always sure of a well organised event. This was one of the reasons why when a sponsorship opportunity came up, locally based footwear and clothing specialist BROOKS RUNNING, contacted race director Eric Hardwick to get involved. Little did they know how important for Hawa that decision was.

Hawa's manager Paul Lockwood contacted Eric at 5.00pm on Saturday to tell him that she had lost all her kit. Eric told him to get her to Hastings and he would try to sort things out. He contacted Sam who was going to retail at the event to see if he could help, and luckily Alex was with Sam. Without hesitation they got together various pieces of kit which they took to the race, and with a bit of good fortune and guesswork the shoes and clothing that they chose were to Hawa's liking.

Hawa 21 from Tanzania is married to John Yuda, former Great South Run winner who is a great athlete in his own right. She in fact flew in at the last minute as she was looking for a class race to compete and Eric was able to oblige with a place at Hastings.

Alex commented "I could not believe it when I heard over the PA system that Hawa had turned into the sea front road in the lead, and then to see her winning was just excellent. I am just very pleased that Sam had the stock"

Sam commented, "We couldn't let Hawa not have a chance to race so we did all we could to help her. The fact that she won as well was great and her time of 79 minutes on a very difficult day is very creditable. We all wish her luck in the future"

Hawa commented, "I would like to thank Paul in getting my kit together in such a short time. I was of course very pleased to win and my trip to England was not the waste it could have been"

For more information on BROOKS running footwear and clothing, please contact Alex Wilson, on the above details. Alternatively go to our web site www.brooksrunning.co.uk

For more information on Hawa Hussein, please contact Paul Lockwood on paul@universalsports.co.uk

Hastings Half Marathon Sunday 14th March 2004.

    The 20th Hastings Half Marathon.

Today’s Event took place on a day with strong winds and dull skies, and rain for the slower competitors.
It was a tribute to the organisation of the event, by The Hastings Lions Club, and the large team of helpers that it proved to be again a great success. Even the spectators came out in their thousands in poor conditions, to support the near 4400 entrants. A record for the event.
The Race was won by Fred Mogata (Kenya) in a four-man Kenyan Battle in a time of 64.22, which was remarkable considering the conditions. This meant that Fred had done the double of winning the Paris Half Marathon last Sunday, and now Hastings. The Women’s Race was won by Howa Hussein (Tanzania), after a titanic battle with past winner Alison Fletcher (Dulwich), with the Tanzanian Lady only getting away in the last mile.
Mike Coleman (Kent) was the first Male U.K. athlete to finish in 5th place, and won the U.K. Athlete Title.
Alison Fletcher won the Women’s U.K. Title.
The Winner of the Sussex Half Marathon Championships was James
Baker(Chichester) and Julia Armstrong(Eastbourne) for the Women.
If you would like more info. Or detail ring me on 01424 436030.
Dean Baker (Bexhill) completed four consecutive routes of the Event in 13hours 18 minutes.
    Eric Hardwick, Race Director.

Hastings Half Marathon Preview. As at 7th March 2004.

    Can Simon make it Three?

Simon Kasmili(Race No. 4) from Kenya will be aiming to be the only Athlete to win the prestigious Hastings Half Marathon three Times. Other twice time winners were Derek Stevens(1985 & 6)(RN 1066) Paul Davis Hale(1989/90), and Sammy Bitok (1994& 5). Although fellow training partners Fred Mogaka(3) and Wesley Ngetich(5), may have something to say about it, the real threat comes from another Kenyan International Lezan Kimutai(2) who won the Belfast Marathon and Connemara Half in 2003. This could be a tremendous battle between the two. Indeed we are very fortunate to have such World Class Athletes competing at Hastings, and delighted to see them sending representatives each year. Domiciled Kenyan Amin Koikai(7) living in Ilford, will no doubt give his normal battling performance. It does not look like a U.K. Athlete will challenge the Kenyan Dominance this year, but you never know 'on the day' what can happen, refer to past winners Mark Flint and Ian Cornford! The challenge should come from 5th last year Adrian Mussett(6), and a newcomer Andrew Swearman(8) from Yorkshire. Andrew a gutsy North country U.K. International is looking to compete with the Kenyans, as is Sussex Star James Baker(39), from Chichester. James is the form 'horse' in the Event, having won in successive weeks the Brighton and Eastbourne Half's, by miles, and running dynamically from the front to burn the opposition of. He will need to move up a gear, but if he can run the first five miles strongly, then anything can happen. On paper he should win the Sussex AAA Half Marathon Championships, unless Paul Froud(10) or Dave Carter(17) come up with a surprise. Regular visitor Barry Royden(22) from Maidstone is in better form this year and is hoping to improve on last year's 9th place, along with compatriot Gareth Williams(9). The latter mentioned runners will also be competing for the U.K. Athletes Manor Insurance Awards with added £500 first prize. There is a possible surprise packet from the U.S.A. in Eric Tollefson(11), who is the Washington Road Race and Half Marathon Champion. In fact he won a prize of Airline Tickets to the U.K., and is using them to run at Hastings for the first time, having heard so much about the Event in The States. He is staying for a few days in Hastings. Fellow American Wayne Dalton(1059) is not perhaps in the same class, but recently clocked 73 minutes for a Half. We welcome these Top United States Athletes to our Event for the first time, along with another 14 runners from their Country! Top European Runner should be Francies Van Steenbrugge(16) from Belgium.

The Ladies Race is wide open, with no clear winner, and though not a class field as the Men, due to the lack of Top Female Athletes at present, should mean an interesting Race, with the top Lady receiving the £2000 first Prize, as well as the U.K. Athletes Manor Insurance £500, as at present there are no Entrants from abroad to compete for the overall title. There is no Bonus of £7000 for beating the 71 minute mark, as this is now uninsurable. Julia Armstong(7004) Eastbourne, is favourite for the title and Sussex Champs and U.K. athlete. It could be a clean sweep if her famous 'motivation' skills, and U.K. International Experience keep her in good stead. Alison Fletcher(7006)Dulwich, and past winner in 1994, could still be good enough. Although it may be too much for twice time winner Caroline Horne(7005)Crawley, now 47, who was the first winner in 1985, and won again in 1997. Or perhaps someone will come out of the pack and surprise us all -maybe Louise Tobin(8224) from The Scilly Isles -a long way to come? Looking at the local scene, Sponsored by Bexhill Honda, Jamie Larkin((21) Senlac Arrows, and Emile Tambeh(2557)H.A.C. could fight of the challenge of previous local winner Andy Lamb(23)SenlacA, who may be a Vet. Now, but is still a class act. The Womens field is between Rosalie Uphill(7149) S.A., and former local winner and 2nd place overall Deborah Burridge(7203)SA, with Victoria Bowles(7247)SB. Always a threat on The Day. They should all be in contention also for the U.K. and Sussex Places, with a good run. But in both cases with the local men and women, there could easily be an outsider who runs out of his/her skins to Win.

Watch out of Lawrence Page(1) who has done all 20 Events, and all the other runners who 'have done them all' wearing special shirts with all their names printed on the back. Roger Rabbit and Rupert Bear will be amongst the fancy dress and Characters in this years Event. Watch for the Hastings Fireman running on 'Compressed air, and changing tanks every few miles. Dean Baker will be running the Event for the 4th time on Sunday, having started at Midnight and running the route three times, we hope he is ready for the 10.30a.m. start for the 4th time! We must not forget the thousands who are raising monies for needy causes, so please come out and support not just the Top Visitors but those further down the Field, and make it an occasion for all the runners to remember.

To celebrate 40 years in Business MFI will be presenting a Prize to the runner finishing in 40th position, and any entrant who is 40 on Race Day. Plus Robin Lloyd Associates who are celebrating their 30th Birthday, will be presenting a Prize to the runner in 30th position.

The Reg Wild Sponsored Min-Run for 11-16 year olds is full for the first time with 300 entrants, and there are no more entries accepted.

Hastings Half Marathon Press Release 1st March 04.

    'Now for The Big One'

After seeing in recent weeks the Brighton and then inaugural Eastbourne Half Marathons won by James Baker from Chichester, it is time to look forward to the Ultimate Challenge of the Top Half Marathon in the U.K. at Hastings on Sunday March 14th Can James Baker do The Treble? He won Brighton in 72.33 and Eastbourne in 73.22, so now for the Sussex AAA Championships at Hastings, plus possibly the top U.K. Athlete to finish. It is his chance to mix with the top International Kenyan Athletes, and having won the other races by such a great distance, with wonderful front running to burn of the opponents, it will be interesting to see if he will try to do this again against this tougher competition.

You can contact James on 01243 773186 or 07746881550.

The Other great challenge is between 'The Media' Iain McBride and Derek Johnson lead the Meridian TV team, With Mark Quinnell from Hastings Observer, and Andy Knight from Arrow FM, plus many other journalists taking part. Should there not be someone from Southern FM?
