


On a perfect day for running, cloudy, mild, and hardly any wind, a record field of over 5000, was led home by a dynamic run from Blackburn star Ben Fish. Having come 6th in the 2009 event, this was a big improvement, even though for the first time in over 20 years, there were no Kenyan athletes in the field.
Fish took his chance and dominated the race, to finish in a time of 1:07:08, over a minute clear of 2nd place Martin Cox (Stafford Harriers), who at least won the top Masters award.
3rd Was Michael Coleman (Medway and Maidstone ACThe ladies race was won by Jessica Macrory (Winchester & D. Harriers) in 1:21:31. This was the second time in the events history that Winchester Harriers have had a female winner at Hastings.
2nd Clare Elms (Dulwich Runners AC) also the first master home.But everybody was a winner at Hastings on Sunday, especially for the record number of charities represented by runners. It is expected that a huge amount will be raised for many needy causes.
The organisers, The Hastings Lions Club, wish to thank all those who helped to put on the event, the runners for entering, and the vast amount of spectators around the route and at the finish.
Prize giving evening will be Sunday 2nd May at 7:00 pm at the AZUR. The 2011 event will take place on Sunday 20th March 2011. Make a note now.
