The Citation says for Services to the Hastings Half Marathon, and I am delighted to accept this great award with great pride, however, in so doing, I would also like everyone involved with the event, to be very much part of this award. From my wife Doreen, our family and friends, members and families of the Hastings Lions Club, other Lions Clubs, other organisations, suppliers to the event, sponsors, Hastings Borough Council, H.A.C. and H.R., The Police, Red Cross, Scouts and Guides, the media, those that sponsor runners for charity, the fantastic spectators, and very importantly the thousands of runners who have taken part over the years. You have all been tremendous, and I would like you all to push out your chest with pride and say that you are very much part of this great honour, which I am privileged to share with you.
